With over 12+ years as a “Curly Hair Specialist” I have traveled the country and had the opportunity to learn many different techniques from some of the very best in the business. Your haircut will not be a “one size fits all” experience but a custom cut that fits you perfectly. After our “hellos”, we will dive right in and learn about your curls; what you like/hate, your difficulties, your lifestyle and everything else that affects your curls. The cut itself usually last 2+ hours and will include plenty of curly education. Once the cut is complete, we will discuss cleansing of your scalp and proper hydration. Next, I will teach you styling instructions and the proper use of healthy products. You will learn a ton about your hair and to help you remember everything, I will include an instruction packet filled with info and a PERSONAL VIDEO of our appointment for you to reference at home. The 3 hours will fly by and you will leave feeling confident and pretty with your new natural curls.

Return visits are designed to freshen up your cut and allows us an opportunity to experiment with a new style if you wish. The 2 hour option includes a wash/style and gives us time to address an difficulties you are having or try out that new style while the 1 hour Express service is great for clients that have it dialed in.

As mentioned above, I have been a stylist for over 25 years and have specialized in curly hair for over 12 years. The curly girl movement originated with Lorraine Massey who I had the privilege of meeting and learning under many times. I am also a certified Rezo Cut specialist, Map Method (Curly Hair Artistry) specialist, and Advanced Deva specialist which all embrace the "Dry-cut" approach for curly hair. Knowing multiple methods and combined with my many years of experience allows me to create a custom curly cut that fits you perfectly.

Puffball, frizzy mess, q-tip, brillo pad, wiry, etc… Yes there is hope for you. I was taught long ago that “Frizz is just a curl waiting to happen”. After taming your frizz with a custom curly cut, I will teach you new hydration techniques using clean products with healthy organic ingredients that will have you loving your new curls. 

Yes, just me! Occasionally, I have a helper but I'm proud of the fact that you get me for the entire time of your appointment. I cut, cleanse, style, hand-dry, educate and everything else so that you get the best possible 1 on 1 service. I'm also the receptionist and maid which is why I can't always pick up the phone. 

YES!! As a color specialist for over 20 years I have handpicked a few colorist that I recommend for my curly clients. They are experts in knowing the needs of the curly girl and how to accentuate your color and not destroy your curls. Also there is a growing trend of naturally curly woman who are embracing their natural hair color. I highly recommend this movie and book.

YES!! Curly hair is curly hair no matter who is wearing it. All my clients seek me out because they struggle with the unique difficulties that curly hair brings. Kids under the age of 14 need to have an adult with them during the appointment as you will both learn how to care for the curls.

As one of the premier curly hair specialist in Southern California, I am often booked up to 3 months in advance. I do have a waiting list and clients with a flexible schedule can often get in sooner. Most of my wavy clients (2A-2C) get haircuts about 4 times a year. Medium curls, such as Botticelli curls (3A-3C), about 2-4 times a year and  super curly clients (4A-4C), 1-2 times a year is normal. I will suggest a schedule for your hair type once we complete our first appointment. Of course if you are a "Curly Pixie" then I'll see you more often to help maintain your style.
